Tour de France 2016 Prize Money

Tour de France Prize Money: The world's famous and oldest cycling competition is back this year on 2nd july with a huge bunch of Prize Money. The Tour de France Prize Money has grown with the popularity of the Race since its first edition in 1903, as a result Riders from different parts of the world began to participate in the Tour de France Live event each year.

Tour de France 2016 Prize Money Pool 2.03 million Euros is awarded in different categories to the cyclists. The prizes will be awarded for each stage and overall standings at the end of the tour.

Following will explain how Tour de France 2016 Prize Money is compensated.

OVERALL STANDINGS

Tour de France 2016 Live, first place overall winner pocket €450,000  as prize money. The second and third place winners will get prize money worth  €200,000 and  €100,000 respectively. And all winners earn prize money on a decreasing scale which slides down to €400 for every rider who finishes Tour de France 2016.

INDIVIDUAL STAGE WINNERS

In Tour de France 2016, the first, second and third place winners of each stage pockets €8,000, €4,000 and €2,000 respectively. All finishers from 4th to 20th place wins a prize money on a decreasing scale which slides down to €200 for each stage.

JERSEY PRIZE MONEY( OVERALL/STAGE)

Overall:

The green jersey and white jersey with red polka dots overall winner bags €25,000 as prize money while the overall white jersey winner receives €20,000.

Stage:

€300 is awarded to the winner of yellow jersey after each stage.The green jersey, white jersey and white jersey with red polka dots receive €300 for each stage as prize money.

COMBATIVE RIDER AWARD

The overall combative rider bags prize money worth €20,000 and each stage winner receives €2,000.

TEAM   CLASSIFICATION

After each stage  €2,800 is  awarded as Tour de France Prize Money  for the best team, while the overall best team is crowned with prize money worth €50,000 at the end of Tour de france. The 2nd and 3rd team receives Tour de France Prize Money worth €30,000 and €20,000 respectively.
